THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ died for the remission (cancellation) of sins. In the Old Testament, priests would sacrifice animals to God for the shedding of their blood to be used instead of human blood. This was called an atonement or offering for their sins. It was prophesied (foretold) that Jesus would be the sacrifice and atonement for sins instead of animals because it pleased God (Isaiah 53). All of the Gospels (The Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) account for the life of Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection - as you read each book, the amazing grace extended from God becomes tangible by faith to those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and for those who will make Him Lord of their lives. In Romans 5: 8-9, we learn that, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.".
